Story

Sestini Eyewear is a luxury sunglasses brand from fashion mogul, Carlo Sestini. Italian-born and London-based, Carlo worked with giants like Tom Ford, Dolce Gabbana, Calvin Klein and Saint Laurent before wanting to build something of his own.

Legacy is at the heart of his luxury eyewear brand, and also at the heart of its visual identity – taking inspiration from an ancient Italian fable on the Sestini family crest. The art direction was framed around the Greco-Roman lore of Delphinus, focused on heritage and future family heirlooms to be passed down generations, rather than wastefully discarded.

Collaborating direct with Carlo and his small team, we iterated through many symbols and wordmarks to simply express his brand, while tying it to part of a larger history, brand story and visual style. The Sestini company has since soared through production for their range, going on to create a partnership with London’s iconic Dorchester hotel.

Thanks goes out to Carlo and Miriam for having me on board to work on the Sestini brand, and a shoutout to Chris for pointing the work my way and the intro – much appreciated!
